Fans of Project Runway first season winner Jay McCarroll got an eyeful during the recent debut of Bravo’s series Project Jay, a documentary series on the designer’s year since winning the show and turning down the Banana Republic–sponsored grand prize. In the first episode of Jay, Project Runway host and executive producer Heidi Klum asked McCarroll to design a dress for her to wear to the 2005 Emmys. When, at the last minute before the event, Klum decided not to wear the dress designed for her (and had someone else call Jay to break the bad news), the outspoken designer burst into tears, calling Klum a “tw**.” Now Klum’s friends are running to her rescue after the episode’s airing, according to the New York Post’s Page Six. “Heidi wanted to support him and wear his design, but it was a lost cause,” a stylist told the gossip column. “Jay’s dress looked like a Halloween costume from Rite Aid.”
